THE EASIEST WAY TO PACK GLASS FOR SHIPPING TO ANOTHER COUNTRY

There will be times when you need to send glass goods such as glasses, test tubes, etc. but do not know how to pack them so that they are safe and do not break during transportation. As a long-term international shipper, we know that items made entirely or partially of glass are among the highest risk items for shipping because they are the most prone to damage. As a result, Indochinapost would like to share a simple and extremely useful method of packing glassware with you.

HOW SHOULD THE GLASS BE PACKED?

Glass packaging is critical work. Failure to properly pack the glass almost always results in your item arriving completely or partially broken. Follow these crucial steps to ensure that your item arrives safely:
Make sure you have the proper packing material before you begin packing your glass items. Wrap your glassware in the newspaper. You can wrap your items in whatever paper you want; if you don’t have any lying around, any free newspaper will suffice. Wrap your items tightly in paper, at least a few layers thick.

Then, using the bubble wrap, cut out large squares. Wrap your item as much as possible in bubble wrap. To secure the bubble wrap, use packing tape. You want to wrap it in such a way that the item’s shape and color are unrecognizable. This protects the item you’re packing from damage.

PACK THE GLASSWARE IN THE BOX.

You’ll need to find a good box to put the glass items in; we always recommend using a new cardboard box. If you can’t find a new box, an old box will suffice as long as you secure it with strong packing tape.

Fill the space with more newspapers so that the glassware does not move or break during transportation. To double-check, “shake” the box; if you hear any movement when shaking the box, you need to insert more cushioning material.

HOW SHOULD THE BOX BE LABELLED?

Finally, seal it tightly and firmly with packing tape. Glue a long piece of hose through the center seam and then tape along the top of the box to form the letter “H.” Simply mark your shipping label as “fragile” or “handle with care,” and your box is ready for pickup by the carrier.
